ISA and Stowe Story Labs Announce 2016 Partnership Including an ISA Fellowship to the September Stowe Story Lab
International Screenwriters Association (ISA) the leading online collaboration resource, and Stowe Story Labs, a leader in programs for emerging screenwriters, filmmakers and creative producers, announce today a partnership that combines the organizations’ mutual goals of giving new talents in the skills, tools and networks they need to hone their craft and thrive in this collaborative and complex industry.
Stowe Story Labs is pleased to open the application process for their 4-day September workshop to all ISA members and include a 15% discount on the application fee. In addition, all ISA members will be considered for the ISA / Stowe Story Labs Fellowship. One fellowship will be awarded and will cover the fee to attend the Lab, a $1,250 value. The Fellow will also have regular contact with Stowe Story Lab mentors during the one-year fellowship to help advance their narrative project and will receive a free copy of Final Draft 9.0, the newest version of the industry standard in screenwriting software, being donated by Final Draft, Inc.
“The International Screenwriters’ Association is thrilled to be partnering with Stowe Story Labs” said Molly Kasch, Director of Operations of ISA. “As we discover amazing new talent every day and connect them with those who can help further their career, the real focus should be on developing craft. Working with Stowe Story Labs to advance this mission makes perfect sense.”
ISA will provide all Stowe Story Labs participants with one free year of ISA CONNECT, a collaboration network for screenwriters, managers, producers and directors. The yearly membership to ISA CONNECT is $100. In addition, Stowe Story Labs participants can apply to ISA for inclusion of their 2016 Development Program and all Stowe Story Labs Fellows will be admitted to this Development Program. The ISA Development Program is the bridge between screenwriters and the Industry. They nurture exceptional writers and their material and make considered introductions to producers, managers and agents on their behalf. The success stories already garnered prove that this service is incredibly valuable to both parties.
“We reached out to ISA about partnering on our programs because we saw a shared mission – to help emerging talents develop the skills, tools and networks they need to get work made and seen,” said David Rocchio, founder and president of Stowe Story Labs. “ISA’s passion for connecting people is aligned with our goal to create a challenging but supportive environment to incubate story and get films made,” he said.
The Stowe Story Labs run from September 10-13 in Stowe, VT. For the full fall schedule, to see list of industry mentors, or to view the yearly programs offered, visit www.stowstorylabs.org.
