Stowe Story Labs Announces the 2019 NewEnglandFilm.com Fellow

Stowe Story Labs is pleased to announce the 2019 NewEnglandFilm.com Fellow to the 7th Annual Fall Narrative Lab.

Victoria Lucia, Springfield, MA; THE LIFE AND TIMES OF FRANCIE PAGE - Drama TV

Logline: A young gay black man flees rural West Virginia seeking a new start, and soon finds himself swept up in the wild atmosphere of 1920’s Harlem where drink, drugs, and sex abound.

About Victoria: Victoria Lucia was born and raised in Springfield, MA. A graduate of Hampshire College, she majored in video production and screenwriting. While in attendance there, Victoria worked as Assistant Director for the school's Global Education Video Crew. She also created a Meta web series following two 20something women trying to gain YouTube fame called Couch Girls.

After college Victoria has explored teaching, working with local non-profit, The Transformative Culture Project, introducing video production to high school students.

As a biracial woman, Victoria is interested in exploring “otherness” in her work. She’s attracted to writing about the characters that usually wouldn’t be deemed leading men and women. She describes herself as having a passion for “giving a voice to the voiceless.”

Victoria was the winner of the 2017 Berkshire Film and Media Short Screenplay Competition, she was a semi-finalist in the 2019 Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition, and a semi-finalist in the 2018 ITV Fest Script Competition. Victoria is always looking for new opportunities to learn, grow, and better her writing, and is working towards making screenwriting her full-time career.
