Tangerine Entertainment / Stowe Story Labs Announce Fellowship for Emerging Female Talent
Stowe Story Labs and Tangerine Entertainment are pleased to announce our first annual Tangerine Fellowship for emerging female talent.
Stowe Story Labs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2013 to bring emerging screenwriters, filmmakers and creative producers from around the world together with top industry mentors to help get work made and seen. In addition to workshops, ‘in-conversation’ interviews with industry pros, lectures and time to work and reflect, there are evening film screenings, panel discussions, and informal cocktail receptions to help forge professional relationships. Stowe Story Labs also hosts a late-Spring Writers’ Retreat in Stowe.
Tangerine Entertainment, a groundbreaking production company and community builder for movies and media by women directors, is sponsoring a new fellowship to be awarded to an outstanding female screenwriter, filmmaker or creative producer to attend the 2015 Stowe Story Labs.
Tangerine Entertainment was founded by industry veterans Amy Hobby and Anne Hubbell. Stowe Story Labs has partnered with Tangerine at its fall labs and spring writers’ retreat since fall 2014. The Tangerine team will work with Stowe Story Labs to award the Tangerine Fellowship to the outstanding candidate. To apply for the Tangerine Fellowship click here.
“I am deeply appreciative and excited to be partnering with Tangerine to launch the Tangerine Fellowship,” said Stowe Story Labs founder and director David Rocchio. “We are creating a community of artists dedicated to making great films, working hard in a supportive environment and maybe bending the world a little bit through story. Working with the Tangerine team over the past year has been a fantastic experience and they bring so much to the Labs. The Tangerine Fellowship will make the Labs even stronger and help bring more quality work to audiences,” said Rocchio.
“Stowe Story Labs provide a physically beautiful, smart, supportive environment for all aspects of creative storytelling. As mentors, we get just as much out of it as the filmmakers we are advising,” offered Amy Hobby. “We are thrilled to be working with them and applaud their serious commitment to diversity.”
Stowe Story Lab industry mentors include Tangerine’s founders Anne Hubbell and Amy Hobby (Secretary; Love, Marilyn, the most viewed documentary on HBO); renowned Casting Director Ellen Parks (Secretary, Sideways); Academy Award Nominated Screenwriter David Magee (Finding Neverland, Life of Pi); and award winning writer and creative producer Anne Rosellini (Winter’s Bone).
