Middlebury College / Stowe Story Lab Fellow Named

Stowe Story Labs is pleased to announce Abigail Woolf has won the inaugural Middlebury College / Stowe Story Labs Fellowship to this September’s Lab.

ELEMENTARY HEIST is a drama about an ill-conceived high-jacking of a school bus. Abigail Woolf is a film and biology student at Middlebury College. She also is a serious brewer and rock-climber, making Stowe a good destination for a writing retreat.

“I'm really excited about attending the Stowe Story Labs this fall,” said Abby Woolf. “This is a great opportunity for me to speak with professional screenwriters and to hear what it is like to work in the business,” she said.

“The Department of Film and Media Culture at Middlebury College is thrilled to sponsor the inaugural Fellowship and looking forward to a continued collaboration with the Stowe Story Labs”, said Ioana Uricaru, filmmaker and Assistant Professor at Middlebury. “Our students are talented and passionate about screenwriting, and the Labs offer a dream opportunity for them to start exploring the industry. “We are thrilled to be working with Middlebury’s film program on this fellowship,” said David Rocchio. “Luckily for us, a participant in the lab last year, Ethan Murphy, is a Middlebury staff member and made the introduction. We have met tremendous young writers through the process of selecting a fellow and hope to work with a number of them,” he said. “Abby will be a particularly good fit for the labs given her devotion to brewing and climbing!”

Stowe Story Labs runs from September 10 - 13 in Stowe, Vermont. The Labs are a nonprofit collective working to help emerging filmmakers, screenwriters and creative producers get work made and seen.
