Story Lab Alum Supports DocDay with Donation

Stacey Davis, an alum of Stowe Story Labs and the Stowe Story Labs' Writers' Retreat, has made a generous donation to Stowe Story Labs. This donation allows 2016 Stowe Story Lab participants to attend the full-day DocDay program for no additional fee.

Stacey is a screenwriter, producer and entertainment lawyer specializing in the film and TV industries. Stacey came to the lab with her action-comedy script 'Where Are They Now?', which is about misfit former teen TV stars being forced back together to thwart a real villain.

In addition to allowing any 2016 Stowe Story Participant attend the full DocDay for no additional fee, each 2016 Stowe Story Lab Fellow has the option of a 1-hour consultation with Stacey on a pending project. Further, Stacey is committed to supporting the Labs for three years.

“Film is my passion,” said Davis, founder of The Law Firm of Stacey A. Davis. “Whether I am developing one of my own scripts or assisting a producer on an actor deal memo, I’m drawn to the collaborative spirit of the business.  Stowe Story Labs has been an incredible asset to me as I’ve developed my craft and I’m beyond excited to collaborate with them to provide even more resources to their Labbers,” she said.

"We are thrilled Stacey is supporting the Labs and Labbers with this contribution," said David Rocchio, founder and president of the Labs. "There is no better validation of our work than to see alum return for follow-up sessions, introduce us to new mentors and participants and ultimately support the labs with contributions of time and money," he said. "Stacey has now done all three for which we are very thankful," he said.

DocDay is a one day exploration of making and financing documentary films. The program is made possible through a collaboration with the Tribeca Film Institute. DocDay will be facilitated by the TFI's Director of Documentary Program, Jose Rodriquez. Mentors at DocDay include Academy-Award nominated Creative Producer Amy Hobby (WHAT HAPPENED, MISS SIMONE?), Award-winning Creative Producer Alex Boden (PULP), and Award-winning Documentarian and Producer James Rogan (MAYFAIR, MONTY PYTHON AND THE MEANING OF LIVE).
