Stowe’s 4-day intensive Narrative Story Lab is the cornerstone of Stowe Story Labs’ programming. It is held annually at The Current in Stowe, Vermont, and brings selected participants together with top industry mentors to workshop, collaborate, network, skill share, and demystify the international film and television industry. The 2021 Lab will be Stowe's 9th Annual Story Lab.
Jenny Halper, Maven’s EVP of Development, has mentored for Stowe for several years. The fellowship is an outgrowth of that partnership.
“We are thrilled to be deepening the partnership with Maven” said David Rocchio, President and Founder of Stowe Story Labs. “We love working with Jenny and love Maven’s mission to champion women in the film and TV industry. We are aligned on this mission, as our intent is to support top emerging screenwriters and filmmakers, no matter their background, gender, or race, as they work to make meaningful work and through that work to bend the world a bit through story,” he said. “We all look forward to finding and working with the Maven Fellow in 2021,” he added.
“We admire the work Stowe does to find and nurture emerging talent," said Maven co-founder Céline Rattray. "We are excited to take this next step and work with Stowe to seek out and support a TV writer,” she said. Maven co-founder Trudie Styler added, “this is an exciting opportunity both for the fellow and for us, as discovering new voices is central to our work."
